Radical Hypocrisy

[Radical liberals from the states]
(in response to the Ferguson and Zimmerman tragedies)
-
"Teach [people] not to be racist!"

Me -
"I think there is more to it than that especially in the Zimmerman case, but all right, fair enough."

Them
(in response to the Steubenville High School football players rape case in 2012 and recent Stanford rape case)
-
"Teach [people] not to rape! We live in a patriarchy."

Me -
"I disagree with the patriarchy part, and again, there is more to it than just teaching people not to harm. People should also learn self-defense and evasion tactics, but fair enough."

Them (in response to the mass murder at Pulse in Orlando) -
"Ban all guns, especially assault rifles!"

Me -
"What about 'Teach [people] not to be homophobic or transphobic?"

Them -
"The issue behind this tragedy is the use of guns!"

Me -
"What about it possibly being a hate crime against me and my LGBT+ community? What about the fact that so many people from my community are now dead -- in my hometown of all places -- regardless of how? Will you at least show sympathy towards us and give us support?"

Them -
"As we said, guns are the problem. Let's only focus on that!"

Sometimes, it's not about what we agree and disagree with. It's about the hypocrisy.
